Through events, workshops and our expert-driven content portal we empower parents and carers with insights and practical everyday strategies that can be translated into positive results. We’re conscious that there are as many solutions as there are families. Our aim is to help parents to make better-informed decisions. First at home, then at large —so together we accelerate change. There’s a lot at stake and we all can do better.
There is always a time in every family when Independence with capital ‘I’ is officially declared. As a father of five children I can only confirm that striving for independence is a necessary stage of life. But how often do we find ourselves out of depth. Perhaps as our children’s behaviour is unreasonably challenging ( likely because their adolescence catches us by surprise and we don’t bother to understand them, really ), or because their behaviour is reasonably alarming ( amidst worries about screen addiction, mental health, social media, anxiety, stress, risky behaviours and other concerns ). Either way it’s easy to surrender and neglect the critical role we play in accompanying them in such a life-changing journey.
There is a lot of science ( and fiction ) about Adolescence but arguably the context in which young people are growing today is not just ‘different’ from the past but far more complex. That is what moved Arantxa Martínez to launch WeSee Education, deeply convinced that Adolescence can be a positive and empowering stage of life, and that a happy Adolescence is both needed and possible.
WeSee Education pioneers a programme that favours young people to grow in self-knowledge and self-confidence in the context of others. It helps parents and leaders to value their role in that journey too. It presents a fresh and empowering perspective on parenting and educating young people within the challenges of today’s world.
Wonderful news is that over the past two consecutive years, WeSee Education was honoured with Silver at The Anthem Awards, by The Webby Awards, in the Category of Education, Art, & Culture. Presented by the International Academy of Digital Arts and Sciences, these awards celebrate the purpose and mission-driven work of people, companies and organisations worldwide.
In the Second Edition of the Anthem Awards ( 2023 ), we won Silver in the category of Special Projects ( Community Engagement ). In the Third Edition ( 2024 ), we won Silver in the category of Literacy Program or Platform ( Awareness & Media ). More in here.
What an honour to share stage with Hamdi Ulukaya ( CEO, Chobani ), Gabby Giffords ( former politician ), Matt Damon ( actor ), Jesper Brodin (CEO, IKEA), Aurora James ( founder of Brother Vellies ), Oleksandra Matviichuk, and so many other individuals at The Anthem Awards who often anonymously lead and organise in new ways to build a more purpose-driven society.
Many congratulations and hats off to Arantxa Martínez and all WeSee Education’s team, friends and family. Farah Hatim, Dr Emma Allende, Dr Jenny Price, Mercedes Zalbidea, Larissa Sánchez, Christine Parreño, Tamara Risso-Gill. Thank you, specially, to our donors and to all the experts who make WeSee Education possible, every day. The world needs more people like you. 😍
